Day 1: Fez → Ifrane → Cedar Forest → Ziz Valley → Merzouga Desert

Your journey begins with an early pick-up from your accommodation in Fez, heading toward the scenic landscapes of the Middle Atlas Mountains.

The first stop is Ifrane, often referred to as the “Switzerland of Morocco” due to its alpine-style architecture and tranquil atmosphere. Continue to the cedar forests near Azrou, where you may encounter Barbary macaques in their natural habitat.

After a lunch break in Midelt, the journey continues through the breathtaking Ziz Valley, renowned for its expansive palm groves and panoramic desert views.

By late afternoon, you will arrive in Merzouga, located at the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Here, you will switch to camels for an unforgettable trek across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Enjoy a stunning sunset before reaching your desert camp, where you will have dinner and spend the night under a starry sky, accompanied by traditional Berber music.

Wake up early to witness a spectacular sunrise over the Sahara dunes, one of the highlights of your journey. After breakfast, return by camel to Merzouga and continue toward Rissani, a historic town known for its traditional markets and desert heritage.

Next, travel to the impressive Todra Gorge, where towering cliffs and a flowing river create a dramatic natural setting. Take time to explore the canyon and enjoy a relaxing walk.

In the afternoon, continue to the scenic Dades Valley, famous for its unique rock formations and picturesque landscapes. Dinner and overnight stay will be in a comfortable hotel in the valley.

After breakfast, travel through the Valley of Roses and along the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing traditional villages and lush oases.

Arrive in Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Morocco,” known for its film studios and cinematic history. Continue to the remarkable Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site celebrated for its ancient mud-brick architecture.

After exploring the kasbah, cross the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass, enjoying breathtaking panoramic views along the way before arriving in Marrakech, where your tour comes to an end.
